TREKKING IN DARJEELING

   
 

Darjeeling is considered as the trekker’s paradise, as many trek routes are available in Darjeeling. The most famous one is Sandakphu Trek. This is a 07 days trek. The route starts from Maneybhanjang then via Tonglu, Gairibas, Kalphokari, Bikeybhanjang and Sandakphu. Sandakphu can be reached on Day 03. Sandakphu at an altitude of 12, 200 ft. offers an exotic view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu & Mt. Nuptse of the Mt. Everest range & also Mt. Khanchendzonga ranges. Again trek starts from Sandakphu on Day 04 via Ramam & Rimbik. Darjeeling can be reached on Day 07. Another trekking route is Phalut. Samthar Platu trek, Neora Valley National Park - forest trek, Rishyap-Kolakham trek, Dalifort trek starts from Lava.
 

 

Among the other adventure sports here are White Water Rafting, Kayaking, Canoeing in river Teesta and mountain biking & rock climbing are the important ones.

* 4/5 hours of moderate trek everyday.
* No camping at Phalut/Ramam/Rimbik as it is very windy & there is no proper place to camp. However, the lodge available there is very tempting.
